Work description: This work is experimental intensive to develop polymer composites suitable for high mechanical and thermal loads. The work involves both thermoplasticsand thermosets. The development with thermoplastics is based on twin screw extrusion followed by compression molding. However, the work withthermosets is based on vacuum assisted resin transfer molding. For both polymer composites, the material preparation is followed by testing (tensile test,compression test, harness test, DSC, TGA, .. etc). The results are to be evaluated/analyzed in weekly basis to decide the next step for the materialdevelopment. By the end of the training, the student is expected to gain a good knowledge in polymers processing and testing.
